Isabel Allende was born on August 2nd, 1942 in Lima, Peru to her parents Francisa Llona and Tomas Allende. She is a Chilean writer who is said to be "the world's most widely read Spanish-language author". She is also a journalist and teacher of Creative Writing and Latin American Literature. She created the Isabel Allende Foundation to empower women and girls, and to protect women and children.
Throughout her 70 years she has gotten the most out of life, meeting many famous people along the way and traveling the world. She even met Barack Obama right after he was elected president. She has written 19 books that have been translated in 35 languages. She has sold more than 57 million copies, has 12 international honorary doctorates, and two of her books have been turned into international movies including The House of Spirits, her first book, and Of Love and Shadows.
Here are her books:

I believe Isabel Allende is a great role model to all the woman in the world. She is a very respected, intelligent, and kind person who people aspire to. The best thing I learned about Isabel while doing this project is that she is a big supporter of women's rights and even has a foundation for them. Even though I'd never heard about Allende before this school year I now know that she is a very popular woman and I am sure had found the most out of life.
